Capturing Moments, Telling Stories

Dancing Through Life with a Camera

About Julia
As a dancer and filmmaker, I am immersed in the creative experience and believe wholeheartedly that the stories we tell drive our lives. I was born in Manassas, Virginia, and studied Dance and Digital Video & Cinema at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
I am the social media manager for several companies and organizations in both Virginia and Los Angeles, and have found a love in curating cultures and identities that accurately represent the brand and its mission. As a classically trained dancer, I am uniquely equipped to capture movement and dance on camera, and I love the ability to share creative works with a larger audience through film.

Movement through the lense
As a videographer, choreography plays a role into every shot I film. In this fight scene, I worked closely with the director to find the perfect angles to capture the emotion of the scene and balance all four characters.

Engaging the audience
The best part of the creative process is working with people. Working with the Gamma Phi Beta organization, I outsourced content from member's personal lives to help create a welcoming and personable energy in the video.
